ALMustansiriyah University holds scientific symposium on challenges facing banks after ISIS defeat
The department of financial and banking sciences at the college of management and economics held the scientific symposium entitled (Opportunities and Challenges Facing Banks after ISIS Defeat) in ALMakrizi hall for postgraduate studies at the college with participation of the dean of the college, general manager of Iraqi central bank and many lecturers, researchers and specialists.
The symposium spotted light on significant investment opportunities available for Iraqi governmental and private banks after the liberation of most Iraqi cities and villages from ISIS existence which caused devastation of infrastructure and discussed the expected role of these banks in funding investment projects in Iraq especially in the liberated provinces.
The symposium also discussed challenges and obstacles which may face banks after the defeat of ISIS which has drained country's wealth and how to overcome these obstacles especially with the continuing drop of petroleum prices, the basic resource of country's income which was forcing the Government to host internal and external investments in order to promote the national economy and to stop depending on petroleum prices. The symposium emphasized on the significant role of banks in funding these investments which enhance the Iraqi economy.
At the end of the symposium , the dean of the college Dr. Qusay ALJabri delivered merit certificates to the participants wishing them more scientific excellence .
