ALMustansiriyah University organizes a symposium on environmental sustainability and modern drilling techniques

 The college of Engineering at ALMustansiriya University organized a scientific symposium on the sustainability of the environment and modern drilling techniques in cooperation with the Ministries of Oil, Electricity and Water Resources, with the participation of a number of specialists, teachers and students. The symposium  aims at highlighting the latest technologies and equipment used in the field of drilling of oil and water wells, the mechanism of relying on renewable energy sources in the production of electricity, as well as discussing best practices to achieve environmental sustainability and to provide a climate free of pollution. For workers in this field and for all citizens. The symposium  discussed the most important techniques used in drilling oil wells, including guided drilling, horizontal drilling and lining drilling, and the role of these techniques in overcoming the various problems that accompany drilling operations and access to the target layer, as well as methods of geological control over exploratory wells and the role of Mud Logging technology in Overcoming drilling obstacles. The symposium also   discussed the latest methods of drilling air wells, the most important method of drilling by Hammer, factors affecting the speed of drilling, and the role of renewable energies in the production of electricity and conservation of the environment from pollution, with a review of the leading pilot projects for solar energy systems in Iraq. In the margins of the symposium, the College opened a scientific exhibition in which a group of government and private companies participated. It included a series of pictures, videos and equipment related to environmental sustainability and modern drilling techniques.
