I have recently been awarded my PhD on the “Investigation of bacteriophages as potential sources of oral antimicrobials”. The main part of the project focused on Bacteriophage isolation, characterization, sequencing and annotation of phages genome, biofilm model, and animal model of bacteriophage towards E. faecalis and other bacterial pathogens that causes serious infections. My work has identified and characterized several lytic siphoviruses phages namely phiSHEF2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 that infect E. faecalis. In addition, the clinical part of study involved in obtaining ethical approval for collecting biological and clinical samples which need tracking patient attendance, and liaising with clinicians. The full genomes of three Siphoviruses were deposited in NCBI with accession no. MF678788, MF678789, and MF678790 respectively to GenBank. These genomes will be published in Genome Announcement (ASM) as manuscript were finalized recently but not submitted yet. While the main work resulted were published in 2019 at Infection and Immunity Journal
