Bahn Agha graduated from Baghdad University in 1999, awarded a BDS degree. She subsequently undertook 1 year of general professional training in Ministry of Health. She appointed Demonstrator at College of Dentistry Mustansiriyah University in 2000. She underwent Orthodontic Training at Baghdad University (2001-2004) and she was awarded Master Degree in Orthodontics in 2004. Appointed Assistant Lecturer at Mustansiriyah University in 2004 and Lecturer grade in 2012. She completed a PhD in 2019 at Queen Mary University of London. During her PhD study, she completed her Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education with distinction (2016-2018). She awarded a recognition Certificate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2018 (FHEA).
Bahn has been supervising undergraduate students for a number of years and is currently Senior Clinical Lecturer at Pediatric, Orthodontic and Preventive Dentistry Department within the Institute of Dentistry. She has actively contributed to the establishment of New Teaching and Learning methods to enhance the undergraduate learning experience and to develop a range of evidence-based modules through running systematic review courses and Journal clubs for researchers and postgraduate students.
Bahn has wide knowledge in 2D and 3D dimensional metrology and an experience in 3D Life Surface Image and Cone Beam Computed Tomography capturing, analysis and measurement; particularly related to clinical applications, such as face and body of human body parts.
Bahn’s principle research interests have primarily focused on sleep-related breathing disorders and their management. She has been granted Innovation Award for Excellence in Orthodontics Research for ‘Three-dimensional Evaluation of Head and Body Posture in Adults with Sleep Apnoea: A Methodological Study’ award by International Association of Dental Research IADR 2019. She has subsequently been awarded the Best Clinical Poster for ‘Surface Craniofacial Phenotype and Prediction Models for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea: A 3-D Evaluation for evaluating’ awarded by British Sleep Society 2019. Her other research interests include Orthodontic interventions, through clinical trials.
She is currently holding the Secretory position of Iraqi Association of Oral Research (IAOR) which represents the Iraqi branch of International Association of Dental Research (IADR) and on the editorial board of Journal of Oral and Dental Research (IAOR).
