Professor Ahmed Mutanabbi Abdula is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (2009) from the University of Jordan, where his research focused on the design and synthesis of β-D-glucosidase and β-D-galactosidase inhibitors.
He has more than 20 years of academic experience in teaching, research, and supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His primary research interests include the synthesis of bioactive heterocyclic compounds, structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies, molecular docking, and in silico drug design.
Professor Abdula currently serves as the Editorial Manager of the Al-Mustansiriyah Journal of Science (since 2021) and has supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses in the fields of organic and medicinal chemistry. He previously completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Nagoya City University, Japan (2014). His scientific contributions focus on integrating synthetic and computational approaches to develop novel therapeutic scaffolds with antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer potential.
